31st DecemberRun. Distance - 3.75miles/6Km Time - 41:01minsI was pleased to get both sessions in today. I fast walked for 15mins and then ran for 6mins and slightly slower for 5mins and then fast walked again for the final 15mins.Average HR was 137. Happy New Year!!! |

Swim. Distance - 1,800m Time - 45:23minsFinishing the year as I mean to start the New one!! I was in the pool by 7.05am today!! It wasn't too busy, no surprise!!I followed my training guide as much as possible. I did: 15mins - Warm-up 15mins - normal pace 15mins - cool down. I swam 74 lengths/1,850m which is 50m short of Half Ironman distance so I was really pleased!! I now have a target for the race and am quite pleased that I was able to swim the distance. I had one short rest after the 15min warm-up. |

29th DecemberRun. Distance - 5miles/8Km Time - 1hr:20:00minsWell, this is it! My training for the Half Ironman Triathlon in August has begun. I am following the training plan of my Triathlon software that Tony gave me earlier this year.I have set it to concentrate on my running and it's sets Sat as the long Bike day and Sun as the long Run day. It was pouring with rain, but I quite enjoyed this session after all the food and excess of Christmas!! I fast walked for 15mins as a warm-up and then ran for an hour with the odd rest of walking in between. I paused halfway to do my leg stretches. I felt OK when I got home but my right thigh was slightly sore. It feels great to be back training!! |
